LDS High Schoolers Earn A Grades at 2.5x the National Rate

LDS men: 25% earn A grades vs 9% nationally. LDS women: 33% vs 14%.

The Shield of Faith study — a BYU research project on LDS youth outcomes — found that 25% of LDS young men and 33% of LDS young women earn mostly A grades in high school, compared to 9% and 14% nationally.

Among returned missionaries ages 35-44, 37-45% hold college degrees compared to 18% of their same-age peers nationally (BYU Studies). The academic outperformance begins in high school and widens after mission service.
