85% of LDS Young Adults Say Faith Is Important — vs 54% of Non-LDS Peers

85% of LDS ages 18-25 say faith is important. 53% say 'very important.' Non-LDS: 54% important, 28% very important.

Among LDS young adults ages 18-25, 85% say faith is important in their lives, with 53% describing it as "very important." Among non-LDS peers in the same age range, 54% say religion is important and only 28% say "very important."

Only 7% of LDS young adults say religion is "not at all important," compared to 27% of non-LDS young adults. These figures come from Pew Research data and suggest that the intergenerational transmission of faith is significantly stronger in LDS families than in most other religious traditions.
