Pew's 2023-24 Religious Landscape Study included a measure on how often Americans think deeply about the meaning and purpose of life. Latter-day Saints ranked first at 65% weekly — one point ahead of Historically Black Protestants (64%) and seven points ahead of Evangelical Protestants (58%).
Nationally, only 49% of all Christians think about life's meaning weekly. The 16-point gap between LDS members and the average Christian suggests a theology that actively encourages existential reflection.
