80% of LDS Parents Teach Faith at Home — More Than Any Other Religious Group

80% pray or read scripture with their children. Evangelicals: 76%. Muslims: 70%. All Christians: 58%.

Pew's 2023-24 Religious Landscape Study found that 80% of Latter-day Saints pray or read scripture with their children — compared to 76% of Evangelical parents, 70% of Muslim parents, and 58% of Christians overall.

The intergenerational transmission of faith is measurably stronger in LDS families. This parental engagement aligns with the finding that 85% of LDS young adults (18-25) say faith is important to them — against a national trend of declining youth religiosity.
