Source verified
U.S. daily prayer: 58% (2007) → 44% (2023-24). LDS: 73%, highest of any group measured. Gap: 29 points.

Between 2007 and 2023-24, the share of all Americans who pray daily fell from 58% to 44% — a 14-point decline. LDS daily prayer held at 73% — the highest of any major religious group in the survey, tied roughly with evangelical Protestants (72%) and historically Black Protestants (72%).

The gap between LDS and the U.S. average has widened to 29 percentage points. The broader American religious landscape is secularizing from the inside. LDS practice is not following that pattern.
