Pew Research Center's 2014 Religious Landscape Study — surveying more than 35,000 Americans — measured weekly scripture reading across major religious groups.
77% of LDS members read scripture at least once a week. Evangelical Protestants: 63%. Historically Black Protestants: 61%. The general population: 35%. The only group that exceeded LDS members was Jehovah's Witnesses at 88%.
LDS members read scripture more frequently than every other major Christian group measured except Jehovah's Witnesses.
LDS youth also participate in Seminary — a daily religious education program throughout high school — and Institute during college years. No other major Christian denomination offers an equivalent daily scripture study program for its young members.
