LDS Members Spend More Weekly Social Time With Their Church Community Than Any Other Group

50%+ spend time socially with church members weekly outside of services.

The AEI's 2021 national community survey found that more than half of Latter-day Saints spend time socially with fellow church members every week outside of formal worship services.

90% of LDS members know their neighbors' political leanings — a proxy for relational depth — compared to 25-33% for other religious groups. The LDS ward system produces deeper community ties than any other religious group measured by AEI, functioning as both a worship community and a social network.
